AND ONE MORE THING: Mark it down as a rock ‘n’ roll inevitability . . . a Queen tribute band has formed in the L.A. area. Calling itself Sheer Heart Attack (a Tribute to Queen), the quintet is scheduled to perform 22 Queen songs--some from each album--in a 90-minute show at the Palomino on Thursday. This is the debut gig for the San Fernando Valley quintet, which settled on its final lineup--featuring Freddie Mercury-style lead singer Enrique Segura--just three months ago. Surprisingly, the death of Queen leader Mercury did not trigger this tribute. According to guitarist Steve Zukowsky , the idea originated about two years ago, before anyone knew Mercury was ill.

“We’re in our late 20s and early 30s and all die-hard Queen fans,” Zukowsky explains. “We all grew up loving their music. Playing it is the best way for us to pay to tribute.”
