Bolinas Relocated

Share

Your depiction of the town of Bolinas on your regional map (“The Hidden Coast Northern Californians Don’t Want You to Know About,” April 4) showed it to be east of California 1. Actually Bolinas is right on the Pacific Coast and thus is west of California 1.

Also, Bolinas is very easy to find even without street signs. All you do is continue north from Stinson Beach on California 1 and look for an unmarked turnoff on the left (about four miles). If there is a second unmarked street on the left within one quarter-mile, make this left turn. Both of these turnoffs quickly meet to form the access road to Bolinas. Bolinas itself is a lovely town that has yet to be corrupted by tourism. So when you go, dress discretely and don’t flash your camera in public.
