HUNTINGTON BEACH : High School Students Honored by Masons

Eighteen students from high schools in Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley and Westminster were honored recently by Huntington Beach Masonic Lodge 380 in the organization’s annual observance of Public Schools Month.

Those honored for academic achievement or service to the community and their schools were:

From Huntington Beach High School: Kathryn Allison and Christopher Watts.

From Edison High School: Gabriel Hann and Sean Evans.

From Special Abilities Cluster: Tim Faber and Rachel Regan.

From Ocean View High School: Leticia Patino and Kerri Umehira.

From Marina High School: Kyle Oba and Tina Yang.

From Fountain Valley High School: Michael Takamura and Preetindar Ghuman.

From Los Amigos High School: Mark Dillon and Quinh Nguyen.

From Valley Vista High School: Tamara Haas and Carlos Tapia.

From Westminster High School: Phu Truong and Jennifer Patalano.

Huntington Beach resident Barry Williams, a local Masonic officer, said that the Masons believe free public education is necessary to a free society and that the organization, as a result, has been recognizing public school student achievements for many years.
