Readers Saw Different Sides of Jim Valvano

Jimmy V. fought his last battle and lost the war. No matter what you thought of his coaching, his tactics or anything connected with a game he so clearly loved, Valvano showed all of us as human beings that what happens on the court is really meaningless in the big picture. I will remember Jim Valvano for his passion, his pride, his courage, his love of life and for one of the greatest NCAA championship games in tournament history. You will be missed, Jimmy V., but your spirit lives on.
