Two Appointed to Board of Huntington Memorial

J. Terrence Lanni of South Pasadena and Jack Brent of Arcadia have been appointed to the board of directors of Huntington Memorial Hospital.

Since 1981, Lanni has served as president and chief operating officer of Caesars World Inc. He is also on the board of trustees for Loyola Marymount University and St. John’s Hospital and Medical Center in Santa Monica.

Lanni graduated from USC with a bachelor of arts degree in speech and general management. He also received a master’s degree in business administration in finance.

Brent was affiliated with C. F. Braun & Co. for more than 40 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a master’s degree in structural engineering, both from USC.

* Eileen Hubbard of Arcadia, a volunteer at Los Angeles State and County Arboretum since 1985, has been elected president of Las Voluntarias y Los Ayudantes, an organization of 300 men and women who give time, expertise and financial assistance to in support of the 127-acre garden in Arcadia.

Hubbard has been active in the Arcadia Junior Women’s Club, Arcadiennes and Arcadia Methodist Hospital Auxiliary.

* Frances S. Caple of Altadena has been awarded the Koshland Award for her contributions to social work.

The award is presented annually by the Koshland Foundation to California professionals who have exceeded the expectations of their jobs.

Caple received her Ph.D. and master’s degree from USC.

* Five Acres, the treatment center for abused, neglected and abandoned children from throughout Southern California, has presented its 1993 volunteer awards to: David Atha of South Pasadena, Patty Howard of Arcadia, Emina Darakjy of Pasadena, Susan Chandler of San Marino, and Hugh Helm of La Canada Flintridge.
