PACKWOOD AND ‘PROGRESSIVE’ CAUSES
Having seen a couple of letters by Oregon Sen. Bob Packwood, soliciting money from the pro-Israel “lobby,” with his boasting of how many billions he has gotten for the Zionist state, I knew there would be some garbage in “The Packwood Problem” (by Tom Bates, April 11).
Sure enough, on the first page you list this “pro-Israel lobby” as a “progressive cause” along with abortion rights, wilderness advocacy and environmentalists’ concerns.
