Players Makes Deal to Build Illinois Hotel

Players International Inc., a Calabasas-based marketer of gambling and other entertainment services, said it has formed a partnership with Amerihost Properties Inc. to build a 120-room hotel next to the Players Riverboat Casino on the Ohio River in Metropolis, Ill.

Construction is to begin upon approval from the city of Metropolis.

Players said Amerihost, based in Des Plaines, Ill., will be the general partner and Players will be a limited partner in the project, which also includes a 400-seat theater next to the hotel that Players will equip and operate.

The Players Riverboat Casino in Metropolis began operations in February.
