Culver City : Sony Expansion Hearing

Share

The Culver City Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Sony Pictures Studios’ proposed expansion plan at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Linwood E. Howe Elementary School Auditorium, 4100 Irving Place.

Speakers will get five minutes each to discuss the plan, which, if approved, will increase gross floor area on the studio lot at 10202 Washington Blvd. to 2.39 million square feet from 1.53 million square feet. The work force would triple, to 5,804.

The staff of the city Planning Commission has recommended approval of the plan, with a set of conditions spelled out in a 91-page document and denying a conditional-use permit for a helipad. A bid to absorb Madison Avenue was withdrawn by Sony.
