Pop Album Chart : Run-DMC Running Strong Again

Share

Run-DMC is having fun crowing “I told you so” to all those who’d written them off as has-beens. The rap group opened strong--at No. 7--with its “Down With the King” album, powered by the huge hit single title song. As expected, Perry Farrell’s new band, Porno for Pyros, couldn’t sustain the sales pace that landed its self-titled debut album in the No. 3 slot last week; it slipped to No. 13, still very respectable for such an offbeat alternative band. Vince Neil’s debut, “Exposed,” also fell, from No. 13 to No. 22. Janet Jackson’s single, “That’s the Way Love Goes,” still tops the pop chart.

* H Town’s “Fever for Da Flavor” continues its relentless climb, now at No. 16, with fans lured by the single “Knockin Da Boots,” which is knocking on Door No. 1 of the pop chart.
