Thomas Suspended From Radio: Jay Thomas, the morning deejay on KPWR-FM (105.9) since 1986, has been suspended. Promotions director John Boyle was declining comment as to why Thomas was suspended or when or if Thomas will return. Thomas, who won an Emmy playing acerbic talk-show host Jerry Gold on TV’s “Murphy Brown,” plays Jack Stein, the tough newspaper columnist and boyfriend of yuppie restaurateur Wally Porter (Susan Dey), on CBS’ “Love & War.” At KPWR (known as Power 106), Thomas is being replaced by Joe Sevantez.
