If everything goes well, this could be a big day for trainer Mark Hennig on both coasts.

About three hours after Personal Hope tries to better his fourth-place Kentucky Derby finish in the Preakness, Icy Warning will go for her fifth victory in six turf starts in the $106,250 Senorita Breeders’ Cup Stakes at Hollywood Park.

Purchased by Jeff Siegel and Barry Irwin two months ago, Icy Warning is the 9-5 favorite for the one-mile Senorita.

A 3-year-old daughter of Caveat, Icy Warning cruised to a 2 3/4-length victory in the restricted Variety Queen three weeks ago in her California debut. In a victory Feb. 25 in Florida, she defeated males, among them Kentucky Derby winner Sea Hero.

With Gary Stevens riding Personal Hope, Jose Santos, who rode Icy Warning to two of her victories, will be aboard again today.

Likeable Style is the 5-2 second choice in the Senorita. It will be her first start since she finished sixth as the 11-10 favorite in the Santa Anita Oaks on March 7. The Oaks was her first defeat after three victories. Kent Desormeaux will ride the filly.

Successful in Santa Anita’s Providencia Stakes, On The Catwalk, with Eddie Delahoussaye riding, is the 3-1 third choice.

The field also includes Adorydar, Voluptuous, Passing Vice, and Dance For Vanny.

Hollywood Park Notes

Idle since winning the Breeders’ Cup Sprint last Oct. 31, Thirty Slews was among seven sprinters entered Friday morning in Sunday’s $108,200 Los Angeles Handicap at six furlongs. A winner of half of his 14 starts, the 6-year-old Slewpy gelding has trained well for Bob Baffert. Eddie Delahoussaye, who has been aboard for all of Thirty Slews’ victories, will have the mount again. The other entrants, from the rail out, are Wild Harmony, Egocentric, Fabulous Champ, Star Of The Crop, defending champion Cardmania and Arrowtown.

Hollywood Park will offer betting on the Pimlico Special and the Preakness today. The Special will be shown after the first local race and the Preakness after the second. . . . Corey Black was fined $300 and Pat Valenzuela $200 for their fight in the jockey’s room after the John Henry Handicap last Sunday. Valenzuela was fined an additional $200 for disrespect toward racing officials.
