Youths Who Helped After Riots Rewarded With Trip to Britain

Share

The good deeds of several Central Los Angeles students who served their communities in the aftermath of last year’s riots have gone a long way--to Great Britain.

The students left Saturday for a two-week trip to England, Scotland and Wales, where they will examine urban problems with youths from the United Kingdom, tour schools, businesses, historical sites and meet local government officials.

After the riots, the youths helped clean up a local park, tutored children, sponsored multicultural celebrations and workshops, and helped start dialogues with gang members.
