The Mighty Ducks have named Bill Robertson, a Cal State Fullerton graduate who has been director of media services for the Minnesota Timberwolves the last 4 1/2 years, as director of public relations for the NHL expansion team.

Robertson, 32, worked for several Southern California sports and news organizations before returning to his native Minnesota to work with the Timberwolves. In Minnesota, he was in charge of public relations and publications for the NBA team and also worked to promote other events in the Target Center, the Timberwolves’ arena.

Robertson, named the 1992 Twin Cities sports executive of the year by WCCO radio in Minneapolis, is expected to join the Ducks in June.
