INTERNATIONAL TRADE : San Juan Capistrano Firm, Top Designer Sign Licensing Deal

An international licensing company based in San Juan Capistrano has signed an agreement to represent designer Carven/Paris for a full range of apparel, shoes, accessories and luggage in the United States.

The company, Logan James Ltd. International, will make sure that all production, marketing and advertising is coordinated between Carven/Paris and individual licensees. Carven/Paris has been a top designer label for 47 years. Its U.S. lines will include both men’s and women’s goods.

“The label in Europe and Japan is considered one of the finest, longstanding couture names,” said Glenn Rutherford, president of Logan James. “The American fashion customer has always had an appreciation for French couture and, based on its success elsewhere, we see the same potential in the U.S.”

Carven/Paris, which has boutiques in Washington and Honolulu, is also one of the top 15 designer labels in Japan.

Logan James, which also has offices in Paris and Park City, Utah, will not only find licensees for Carven/Paris merchandise but will offer design, marketing and advertising services to the licensees. The company has done licensing for such Orange County surf wear labels as Newport Blue, Jimmy’Z, Gotcha Sportswear and Ocean Pacific.
