More Reasons Pete Rose Doesn’t Deserve Fame

Share

Sorry, Jim Murray, however Pete Rose began his career, he ended it as a selfish record hog. He doesn’t belong in the Hall of Fame because:

1--Pete got the all-time hit record because as manager he was able to keep a better man from playing first base (a power position) at Cincinnati for about seven years. During that time, he averaged less than one home run a year.

2--Pete was incriminated for betting on baseball by copies of dozens of canceled checks he had written. They were not made out to Father Flanagan of Boys Town.

3--Baseball is for kids. Pete hated kids unless they had $15 or so to pay for his autograph.

4--Pete Rose never accepted his guilt for income tax evasion or for betting on baseball. One tax expert said Pete should have been nailed for felony tax evasion.

5--If he made the Hall of Fame, he would most likely turn the awards into quick cash, just as he has done with his other awards and memorabilia.
