The daughter of a man who was sentenced to 342 years in prison for molesting her said he “probably got less than what he deserves.”

David Barnard, known as the “Devil Man” because he made nightly trips through Oakland clad in a cape and wearing his hair styled into horns, was sentenced in Alameda County Superior Court after a trial filled with details the judge called an “immersion in evil.”

Barnard, who was sentenced on 114 felony counts of assault and perversion, will not be eligible for parole for more than 170 years.

“He probably got less than what he deserves,” said the daughter, 18. “It’s too bad he can’t live to be 300 years old so he can serve his entire sentence.”

Barnard’s wife, Suzanna, 51, was sentenced to 17 years in prison for allowing the assaults and for threatening her daughter to keep her from revealing the family secrets.
