The Anaheim-based Leo Freedman Foundation will give the Pacific Symphony $850,000 over the next five years, orchestra officials have announced. The grant begins with $150,000 to support classical music concerts at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa and the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art in Santa Ana, as well as educational outreach programs in the city of Anaheim, during the 1993-93 season.

The remainder of the grant will be distributed in installments of $175,000 for similar purposes for each of the next four years. It is the largest grant that the orchestra has received.

The foundation previously gave the Pacific $150,000 to help underwrite programs during the 1992-93 season.
