Youth, 17, Falls From Moving Truck, Dies
A 17-year-old Canyon Country youth died Thursday after he fell from the back of a moving pickup truck and struck his head on the street, authorities said.
After the accident, Michael Pulliam was taken to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in Valencia, where he was pronounced dead about 4:30 p.m. An autopsy will be performed today, a Los Angeles County coroner’s spokeswoman said.
Pulliam was standing in the back of the pickup, which was traveling east on Whispering Leaves Drive about 3:15 p.m., when the driver turned left onto Sierra Estates Drive, causing Pulliam to lose his balance, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Richard Lichten said.
