An off-duty Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy shot at three teen-agers in Valencia early Saturday morning after one pointed a pellet gun at the deputy during a traffic dispute, authorities said.

The deputy, identified as Scott Seeman, 29, did not hit the teen-agers and there were no injuries.

Two Valencia boys, ages 16 and 17, were arrested about three hours after the 12:30 a.m. incident. A 15-year-old girl was questioned and released, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Irma Becerra.

The Sheriff’s Department did not release the juveniles’ names.

The incident occurred after the deputy become involved in a traffic dispute with the teen-agers on Del Monte Drive near Las Lanas Court, Becerra said.

When Seeman followed the teen-agers into a cul-de-sac to get their license information, the driver turned the pickup truck he was driving around, accelerated and headed for the deputy’s car, Becerra said.

As the truck went by, one of the teen-agers pointed a pellet gun, which the deputy believed was a .45-caliber handgun at him, Becerra said. The deputy fired twice, hitting the pickup.

The teen-agers fled, but were captured about 3 a.m., Becerra said.

The pellet gun was found in a gas station restroom.

The suspects, who have admitted pointing the pellet gun at the deputy, were being held at Santa Clarita sheriff’s station on suspicion of brandishing a weapon at the occupants of a vehicle, Becerra said.
