Grass Fire Destroys 2 Homes in Nipomo

NIPOMO, Calif. —
Two houses were destroyed and at least 15 acres of grassland burned Wednesday afternoon when a wind-whipped fire blazed out of control in the rural residential Nipomo Mesa section of this southern San Luis Obispo County community.
Fire officials said containment efforts were hindered by the 30 m.p.h. winds.
