Redken Laboratories Purchased: L’Oreal, the world’s largest cosmetics group, said its exclusive U.S. distributor, Cosmair Inc., bought the Canoga Park-based hair care company for an undisclosed amount. Cosmair is controlled by Swiss food group Nestle and L’Oreal’s founders, the Bettencourt family. Cosmair’s line includes such L’Oreal products as Lancome, Ralph Lauren, Armani and Paloma Picasso fragrances and beauty creams. Redken, which employs 850 people, sells its products to hair salons in 35 countries.
