15-Year-Old Shot in Chest in Santa Ana
A 15-year-old boy was shot twice in the chest Thursday night during a gang-related argument but is expected to live, police said.
The victim’s name was not released because of his age, Lt. Earl Porter said.
The teen was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana after the 9:20 p.m. shooting in the 2300 block of South Maple Street, Porter said.
Hospital officials said his wounds were not life-threatening.
Investigators were not sure what happened but that after the shooting, two to four suspects yelled out gang affiliations and ran away, Porter said.
