RACING ROUNDUP : Devil His Due Wins Suburban Handicap
Devil His Due, a loser in his six previous starts at Belmont Park, won the $300,000 Suburban Handicap by 1 1/2 lengths on Sunday.
In winning his fourth stakes in his last five starts, Devil His Due beat Pure Rumor, who was making his stakes debut. It was another three-quarters of a length back to West By West, unbeaten in five previous starts at Belmont.
Devil His Due gave trainer Allen Jerkens his second stakes winner on the card. He also saddled Classy Mirage, who won the Prioress for 3-year-old fillies.
Devil His Due covered the 1 1/4 miles in 2:01 4/5 and paid $5.60, $4.20 and $2.80. Pure Rumor returned $7.20 and $4 and West by West paid $3.20.

Cleone, owned by Allen Paulson, scored a 1 1/4-length victory in the $115,100 Firecracker Stakes at Churchill Downs. He covered the mile on the turf in 1:35 4/5 and paid $3.80, $2.80 and $2.40.
