Ingram Micro Appoints VP of Personnel

George A. Rich has been appointed vice president of human resources for Ingram Micro Inc., the Santa Ana distributor of microcomputer products. He was formerly vice president of human resources at Knott’s Berry Farm. Before that, Rich was senior director of human resources for Taco Bell Worldwide and senior personnel manager with Frito-Lay Inc.

* Edwin K. Sakamoto has been elected chairman of the Unified Medical Group Assn. in Seal Beach. The group is a national organization of prepaid medical groups. Sakamoto has been medical director for Harriman Jones Medical Group in Long Beach since 1988.

* Cynthia Tuch has been appointed director of catering and conference services for the Westin South Coast Plaza hotel in Costa Mesa. She has been with the hotel for more than three years, most recently as corporate catering sales manager.

* Tom Wilck has been appointed to the advisory board of the Automobile Club of Southern California for a three-year term. Wilck is president and chief executive of an Irvine public relations firm.

* Stephen Klenk has been appointed vice president of regulatory affairs and student finance for National Education Centers Inc. in Irvine. Before joining the company, a subsidiary of National Education Corp., Klenk was vice president at Phillips Colleges. He has also held positions in student finance management at the University of Rhode Island and the University of Connecticut; administrative systems development at Brandeis University; and consultant services in regulatory compliance and quality improvement for Coopers & Lybrand’s national higher education program.
