A mother, daughter and granddaughter were found shot to death in their Upland condominium, where they had lain for 11 days before a gardener noticed the smell.

Investigators said they hadn’t determined whether it was a murder or a murder-suicide.

“Right now it is a death investigation. That’s it,” said police Detective Jeff Mendenhall. “We have not ruled anything out.”

Nancy Fine, 61, her daughter Judith Ann Heisler, 38, and granddaughter Megan Fine, 8, were discovered inside their single-story condominium in a quiet neighborhood near Red Hill Country Club.

The bodies were discovered Thursday afternoon when a gardener mowing the lawn smelled an odor from the house, Mendenhall said. The detective estimated the bodies had been there 11 days before being discovered.

All three had gunshot wounds, Mendenhall said. Police also found a handgun. Nancy Fine’s body was in a bedroom and the other two were in the kitchen, he said.
