The ‘Seattle’ Sound

Share

There’s nothing sleepy about the performance of the “Sleepless in Seattle” soundtrack. It’s as hot as the movie, entering The Times’ Southern California pop album chart at No. 3. “Sleepless” is the kind of romantic movie fans love to relive through the soundtrack. Barbra Streisand’s hard-core fans obviously weren’t swayed by the lukewarm reviews of her latest Broadway album, which debuted at No. 1. Billy Ray Cyrus’ “It Won’t Be the Last” hasn’t caught on with pop fans but he’s still the country king. His new one tops the country chart while his last one, “Some Gave All,” is No. 5.
