SANTA ANA : $200 Million Worth of Cocaine Seized
In the biggest-ever drug seizure involving Santa Ana narcotics investigators, about 1,700 pounds of cocaine were found in a Lake Forest warehouse, police said Tuesday.
No arrests have been made in the ongoing investigation, said Police Lt. Robert Helton, who estimated the street value of the drugs at $200 million.
Agents of the Santa Ana Police Department, state Bureau of Narcotic Enforcement and FBI took part in a raid Friday at the unoccupied warehouse.
The cocaine was packaged in clear plastic bags, Helton said. It was not known where the drug came from or where it was headed.
Helton said police delayed announcing the seizure in hope of making arrests, which as yet have not occurred.
