Deaths From North Japan Earthquake Reach 175

TOKYO —
Nearly a week after a major earthquake and huge waves lashed northern Japan, the death toll has reached 175 and 69 people remain missing, police reported Sunday.
Police divers recovered nine more bodies Sunday from the tons of flotsam that clog the shores of Okushiri, an island near Hokkaido.
