United Way Chief to Resign After 14 Years
The executive director of United Way of Ventura County has announced that she will resign to pursue business interests after spending 14 years with the organization, officials said Monday.
Colleen Hunter-Hancock, 36, said she will step down in mid-September, but announced her resignation early so the United Way board could start looking for a successor.
“I’m looking and ready for a new challenge,” Hunter-Hancock said.
Hunter-Hancock started with United Way in 1979 in the marketing department. She served as the organization’s campaign director before becoming executive director.
“Through her efforts, the United Way of Ventura County is a strong and able organization with many dedicated volunteers and a competent staff,” said Joe Henderson, chairman of the United Way board.
