Bullfrogs Roll Past Blades Into First Place

The Bullfrogs took over sole possession of first place in the Buss Division with a 10-8 victory over the Blades in a Roller Hockey International game Tuesday at the Anaheim Arena in front of 6,453.

The Bullfrogs (7-0) started the night tied with the Blades (6-3). Teams receive two points for a victory.

It was the second time in two games the Bullfrogs beat the Blades in Anaheim. The Bullfrogs won, 6-5, Sunday.

The teams were tied, 2-2, Tuesday after the first quarter. It was 5-5, at the half and, 7-7, after three quarters. But the Bullfrogs scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter.

Joe Cook put the Bullfrogs ahead, 8-7, with a goal two minutes 25 seconds into the final quarter. Bob McKillop scored at 4:50 and Kevin Kerr got the Bullfrogs’ final score at 10:02.

“I don’t think many of the L.A. players are going to make our Christmas wish lists,” said Bullfrogs’ Coach Chris McSorley in reference to the physical game.

The Bullfrogs were called for 21 minutes of penalties and the Blades 10. Each team had two power-play goals.

Victor Gervais had a goal and five assists and Cook had three goals for the Bullfrogs, who play host to San Diego on Thursday.

Darren Perkins had two goals and two assists and Brad McCaughey added three assists for the Bullfrogs.

Mike Callahan had three goals and an assist for the Blades.
