Stapleton Named Mitsubishi Group VP
Michael Stapleton has been appointed vice president of strategic marketing for Mitsubishi Electronics America Inc.’s Consumer Electronics Group in Cypress. Also, Gary Paola has been appointed national group coordinator. He had been Northern California account executive. Bill Loewenthal has been promoted to manager, product and brand development.
* Dirk Broekema Jr. has been appointed a director and chairman of the audit committee of First Fidelity Acceptance Corp.’s board. Broekema was chief executive and chairman of Bowest Corp. in San Diego, which he purchased in 1981, until he sold it last year to a unit of ITT Corp. In addition, Michael D. Burks has been appointed senior vice president and chief financial officer for First Fidelity, an Irvine automobile loan company. Burks was an accountant with BDO Seidman before serving as chief financial officer of Glenfed Financial Corp. in Dallas.
* Jim Samuels has joined the Four Seasons Hotel in Newport Beach as director of marketing. He had been with Ritz-Carlton Co. since 1989, most recently as director of sales and marketing at the Rancho Mirage hotel.
* Richard C. Reid has joined National Bank of Southern California as regional vice president of the Orange office. Reid has more than 19 years of commercial lending experience, including senior level management, lending and business development positions with Orange County banks.
* Elizabeth De La Pena has been appointed bilingual employment manager for Anaheim Hilton and Towers. She will be responsible for interviewing potential employees, processing new hires, conducting orientation sessions and recruitment. Before joining Hilton, she spent three years at Hyatt Regency Alicante in Garden Grove, most recently as employment manager.
* Jay Adelstone has been appointed Western sales director for VSI Fasteners Inc. in Stanton, a supplier of fasteners, chains and chain accessories. He previously spent 11 years with Black & Decker in a variety of industrial and retail management positions, most recently as senior district manager of the industrial division. Also, Brian Budrow has been appointed marketing product manager. He joins the company from a marketing management position with family-owned Budrow & Co.
