Ryan Connors, the former Hart High quarterback who was hurt late Friday night while apparently drag racing, is resting at home in Valencia after being released from the hospital Sunday.

The accident also injured the driver of another car, Gregory C. Moore, who remained at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital on Monday. Hospital officials would not release information on the extent of his injuries.

A Sheriff’s spokesman said Monday that an investigation into the accident was ongoing, with results of blood-alcohol tests on Connors not expected to be completed for another two weeks. The department will then determine what charges--if any--to file against Connors, who was not arrested.

“Once we get the (test) report, if it indicates he had a .08 level or above, we’ll recommend that felony drunk-driving charges be filed against (Connors),” said Sgt. John DiMatteo of the Sheriff’s Dept. “So far, our investigation indicates he was racing.”

Connors, 19, lost control of his car at a speed estimated in excess of 70 m.p.h. at about 11:55 p.m. Friday and crossed the double-yellow divider on the two-lane San Fernando Road in Newhall, colliding with the car driven by Moore, 32, that was traveling in the opposite direction.
