Member Reappointed to Panel on Aging
A retired Studio City clinical psychologist has been appointed to a third term on the Los Angeles County Commission on Aging by County Supervisor Ed Edelman.
Maurice Deigh, 80, who was originally appointed to the commission in 1988 by Edelman, is one of five Valley representatives on the 45-member panel, which advises the Board of Supervisors on aging issues and works with local governments to develop and improve programs for the elderly.
“I’m very satisfied with the appointment,” Deigh said.
Besides having worked as a division head in the county Department of Mental Health, Deigh was a clinical instructor at UCLA, Loma Linda Medical School and USC, where he earned a doctorate in clinical psychology.
Deigh, who has lived in Studio City since 1946, is also vice president of the Southern California chapter of the Gray Panthers, a senior citizens advocacy group.
