Duarte : Record Hospital Donations
Volunteers for the City of Hope National Medical Center turned in a record $57.4 million in donations at the hospital’s biennial convention. Delegates from 500 support chapters nationwide announced the donations during the convention, which included an 80th birthday party at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
Donations provide a major portion of the nonprofit hospital’s budget and help fund the related Beckman Research Institute in Duarte, which supports research in leukemia, diabetes, AIDS and other diseases.
