BELLFLOWER — Kaiser Permanente has awarded more than $200,000 to Southern California HIV / AIDS nonprofit organizations.
Local grant recipients include Being Alive, Long Beach; Christ Chapel of Long Beach; Long Beach AIDS Network; Santa Maria House, and the Comprehensive AIDS Resource and Education Program.
Many of the agencies receiving grants provide services not covered by insurance or not available through federal, state or county agencies.
Since 1988, Kaiser Permanente has donated nearly $1 million in community service grants to organizations serving people with HIV.
