3 Members Resign From Grand Jury

Three members of the 1993-94 Ventura County grand jury have resigned for personal reasons, county officials said Thursday.
The jurors--George A. Gopaul of Oxnard, Richard Raymond of Ventura and William Seaver of Camarillo--were replaced by Robert W. Evans of Thousand Oaks, Jay Flashner of Moorpark and Lavonne Foose of Oxnard.
Reasons given for their resignations range from getting a job to not realizing they aren’t paid for being on the jury.
Jurors quitting “is always a problem,” said Steven Z. Perren, Superior Court presiding judge. “We try to make it as clear as we can that this is a major undertaking, but the message doesn’t come through until after it’s become a major undertaking.”
