BUENA PARK : 5 Win Scholarships From Cable Industry
Five students demonstrating excellence in the field of communications were recently awarded $1,000 scholarships from Buena Park Cable Foundation and Comcast Cablevision of Orange County.
The annual Comcast Cablevision Communication Scholarship was established for students interested in a career in communications. Applicants had to live in Buena Park and be either a college student or a high school senior planning to attend college.
Recipients of the 1993 awards are:
* Antonio Enrique Galan, a television and video production major at Cerritos College;
* Joyce Ikemiyashiro, a television production major at Cal State Fullerton;
* Bony (Sam) Han Kang, a broadcast journalism major at the University of Illinois;
* Jennifer Lynn Lubin, an English and television production major at Fullerton College, and
* Elizabeth Sima, a journalism major at the University of Chicago.
Comcast Cablevision of Orange County serves 90,000 homes in Buena Park, Fullerton, Newport Beach, Placentia, Santa Ana and Seal Beach. The Buena Park Cable Foundation administers public access programming in the city.
