THOUSAND OAKS : Council to Delay Hearing on Day Care
- Share via
The Thousand Oaks City Council will probably postpone considering new regulations on home-based child-care centers until Sept. 28, at the request of day-care providers.
The council also is expected to delay the public hearing on a proposed nightclub ordinance that would ban alcohol sales at dances attended by minors.
Although the Planning Commission recently endorsed the nightclub ordinance, City Atty. Mark Sellers has asked for more time to review the legality of the law’s provisions. The staff is recommending the hearing be placed on the council’s Sept. 7 agenda.
Both the day-care regulations and the nightclub ordinance were scheduled for Tuesday’s meeting, the last before a month-long recess. Shortly after council meetings resume in September, Mayor Judy Lazar will step down as chairwoman, and Mayor Pro Tem Elois Zeanah will succeed her.
