HOLLYWOOD : Reservoir to Temporarily Be Closed to Recreation
Disinfection treatment will close the Hollywood Reservoir to recreational activities--such as jogging and bicycling--until Aug. 11, the Department of Water and Power announced Monday.
The reservoir’s perimeter road will be blocked by equipment used to pump chlorine into the 1.3-billion-gallon water basin, a DWP spokeswoman said. While the recreational activities will be interrupted, there will be no break in water service, she said.
