La Canada Flintridge : Update on Old Town Plans
The public is invited to a city forum on Old Town district improvement plans on Wednesday at Descanso Gardens.
Old Town district is a part of the 20-year Foothill Boulevard Master Plan, adopted in 1991 to attract businesses to the area and make the street pedestrian-oriented, said Marsha Harris, planning director.
Planning Department officials will update residents on the project at the 7:30 p.m. meeting in Classroom B, 1418 Descanso Drive.
Foothill Boulevard is being reduced from four lanes to two lanes in the Old Town district, between La Canada Boulevard and Alta Canyada Road. Angle parking will be installed and left turn lanes will remain. The restriping of the road will begin Aug. 16 and is expected to take five days.
