Plane Crash Victim Identified
An Arizona woman killed in the crash of a small plane near Big Bear City Airport was identified Sunday as Lucretia Fay Shaw, 72, the San Bernardino County coroner’s office said.
Shaw’s husband, who was piloting the single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza, was seriously burned in the Saturday afternoon crash, authorities said.
The plane was approaching the airport when its right wing apparently hit a tree. The aircraft crashed into a utility pole before catching fire in the yard of a home, sheriff’s deputies said.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the incident.
