The Cadillac Tramps made a couple of highly placed fans last week when Stone Gossard and Jeff Ament of Pearl Jam caught the hard-charging Orange County band’s Aug. 6 club gig in Seattle. The favorable impression paid an immediate dividend, according to the Tramps’ booking agent, Gabe Bloom: Pearl Jam, playing a series of dates in Canada, has invited the Cadillac Tramps to be its opening band for sold-out concerts tonight in Calgary and Thursday in Edmonton.

KOCE Channel 50 brings back Mrs. Bridges the cook, Hudson the butler, and Rose the head maid on Sept. 2, when it begins rebroadcasting the popular BBC-TV series “Upstairs, Downstairs.” Two episodes will be shown back-to-back at 8 and 9 p.m. on Sept. 2. Subsequent episodes will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. All 68 segments of the series will be broadcast.

Paid attendance at the Mikhail Baryshnikov/White Oak Dance Project performances at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa, which ended Saturday, averaged 98.9% of capacity, a center spokesman said Monday. The three-day run of modern dance grossed $340,707.
