Victim Assistance: Helping People, a group formed by six Orange County companies to help businesses in South-Central Los Angeles that were destroyed during the riots, has raised more than $15,000 over the past year.

An affiliate of the National Council of Negro Women, based in Washington, Helping People is composed of Towne Inc., B&Z; Printing, Financial Statement Services, Industrial Printing Group, Master-Sort and St. John’s Knits.

The group replaced a printing press and other equipment destroyed by a fire at Bear Printers, and paid for copying equipment and repairs at Masud Falomi, a mailbox rental and copying shop.
