Platinum Software Splits: Platinum Software Corp. Thursday declared a 3-for-2 stock split in the form of a 50% stock dividend to shareholders as of Sept. 2.
The Irvine-based supplier of financial software has 8.2 million shares of common stock outstanding. After the split, it will have 12.2 million.
Platinum said it was splitting the stock to lower its price, making it more attractive to investors and increasing the number of shareholders.
