PACOIMA : Man Walking in Road Is Struck by Car, Killed

A man died early Wednesday in Pacoima after he was struck by a car that hit him while he was apparently walking in the road, police said.
The victim, who police believe was a transient about 35 years old, was pronounced dead at Pacifica Hospital of the Valley in Sun Valley about 1 a.m., Los Angeles Police Officer Tim Wells said.
Authorities have not identified the victim, Wells said.
The accident occurred about 12:20 a.m. when a car struck the man as he wandered onto San Fernando Road near Van Nuys Boulevard, Wells said.
He said that the driver of the vehicle was not cited.
