More Than $27,000 Collected for Victims
The American Red Cross has collected more than $27,000 from Ventura County residents for flood victims in the Midwest.
The largest donation was $1,000, with most residents giving $100 or less, said Brian F. Bolton, executive director of the Ventura County Red Cross.
The Red Cross, which is expected to spend more than $20 million in the flood-ravaged area, is looking for registered and licensed practical nurses to volunteer in the relief effort. The agency will pay travel expenses.
