Syncor Profits Jump for 4th Quarter and Year

Syncor International Corp., a Chatsworth-based operator of specialty pharmaceutical centers, reported a sharp increase in profits for its fiscal fourth quarter and year that ended May 31.

Syncor’s fourth-quarter profit was $3.55 million, up 46% from the $2.42 million it earned a year earlier. Its revenue totaled $60.8 million, a 10% gain from $55.2 million in the previous fourth quarter.

For the year, the company’s earnings rose 42%, to $9.81 million from $6.9 million in fiscal 1992. Its annual revenue grew 18%, to $230.9 million from $196 million.

Syncor said its improved results were due in part to the continued expansion of its core radiopharmacy service network and the sale of its home-infusion business.
