Paul T. Guinn; Riordan Law Firm Partner, Civic Activist
Paul T. (Tom) Guinn, civic leader and a senior partner in Mayor Richard Riordan’s law firm Riordan & McKinzie, has died at age 64.
Guinn died Aug. 11 in Sun Valley, Ida., of an apparent heart attack, the law firm announced Monday.
He had been president of Children’s Institute International and served on the executive committee and board of the mayor’s private Riordan Foundation and Rx for Reading. Guinn also served on the boards of the LSB Leakey Foundation and the Eastside Boys Club.
A native of Fresno, Guinn was educated at Cal State Fresno, UC Berkeley and Harvard University Law School. He served in the Coast Guard.
Guinn is survived by his children, Paul J. Guinn and Mary Guinn Morphy, both of Pasadena; brothers Jack Guinn of Yorba Linda and Jerry Guinn of Fresno, sisters Evelyn Guinn of Fresno and Joan Bogenshield of Cambria, and three grandchildren.
Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. today at Pierce Brothers Westwood Village Mortuary.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Children’s Institute International, 711 S. New Hampshire Ave., Los Angeles, Calif. 90005.
