New Network TV Chief at Paramount: Garrett S. Hart been named president of the network television division of Paramount Pictures’ television group. He will be responsible for the development and production of the division’s original programming for networks and first-run syndication. Formerly senior vice president of current programs for Universal Television, Hart is a close associate of Paramount TV Group Chairman Kerry McCluggage, whom he worked under when McCluggage headed Universal’s network TV division. Paramount said Hart succeeds John Pike, who left the company this week. In another entertainment development, Fox Television Stations will acquire its ninth TV outlet, Philadelphia’s WGBS (Channel 57), from Combined Communications. Terms were undisclosed.
