Pittsburgh offensive tackle Reuben Brown, reinstated to the team last week by Coach Johnny Majors despite two off-the-field incidents, has been placed on probation for a March altercation at an off-campus hot dog stand.
Brown, 6-4 and 310 pounds, appeared in Allegheny County court on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstruction of a public throughway. Felony charges of aggravated assault on an officer and criminal conspiracy were dropped.
